Daylong Retreat with Mitra Manesh – Radical Self-Care

Saturday, April, 7,  2018  – 10:00 am – 4:00 pm at UCLA

Self-care is an over-used, under-understood and sometimes mis-used concept for some, even in the context of service, care, and love. In this practical hands-on daylong we will explore what self-care truly means, why it is important, and how we can develop a healthy regime of it.

Mitra will guide us to examine self-care at 3 different dimensions– physical, mental and emotional– and will assist us to create a do-able practical routine for ourselves. We will mindfully meditate/work alone & in a group/move/journal…and get to know ourselves in a deeper and kinder way in order to care for ourselves in a better way.

In these stressful, fast-paced, technology-driven times, self-care is one of the most effective soothing home remedies for the dis-ease of our bodies, minds, and hearts. Take a radical step, and join us for a day of radical self-care. It will reinforce, deepen and focus your mindfulness practice, and, if you are new to mindfulness, it’s a beautiful way to get started. ( even if you don’t have a mindful practice or life, actually, specially if you don’t have a mindful practice or life.)

Our retreat has room for many, however, once we book a space at UCLA, we are limited in numbers and how many participants we can take. So if this topic speaks to you, please register as soon as possible.

Please bring your lunch/water/beverage/snacks, notebook and pen, cushion or cover (if you would like)

Also, please refrain from wearing perfume or scented oils and creams, and jewelry that makes noises. We suggest that you wear comfortable layered clothing because we will be doing some mindful stretching and moving.
